Coherent - Star SeriesWe can offer a range of mixed gas (white), argon (green) or krypton (red) models. The star series provides enough power for a medium size venue or a large club.Performance to Match Your ApplicationThe Innova Star~ II ion laser system delivers optimal performance for entertainment applications. The Star II system comprises a water-cooled laser head and power supply plus a remote-control module. Optional water-to-water heat exchangers, which precisely control cooling water and help extend tube lifetimes, are available. A wide range of models offer the exact power, colour balance, and beam divergence needed for virtually any requirement. Coherent's worldwide network of sales and service representatives provide professional customer support both before and after the sale.Inside the Star II Laser HeadSeveral key elements in the laser head contribute to the exceptional performance and lifetime of the Star II system: the sealed-mirror Innova Series V metal/ceramic plasma tube, an integral SuperInvar resonator, and automated mirror alignment. Sealed mirrors, mounted to the plasma tube with flexible bellows, eliminate any need to clean windows or optics. This is an especially attractive feature when the system is installed in a smoky or dirty environment; or when the laser head is mounted in a location that's difficult to access for routine cleaning. The Innova Series V tube is the latest version of Coherent's metal/ceramic plasma tube. Series V tubes feature gas circulation path modifications that enhance lifetimes - both at full power but also at the lower powers frequently encountered during simmer or standby periods. Series V tubes also allow for more precise gas mixtures and pressure settings without compromising lifetimes. This results in higher output powers and dramatically improved colour balance. The integral, high-thermal mass, low-expansion coefficient, SuperInvar resonator, with its three matched rods, helps maintain stable output power and provides superior beam pointing. This unique design - a sealed- mirror plasma tube with an integral resonator - also lets you mount the Star II in almost any orientation and provides for a rugged package that can withstand the rigors of shipments and vibration.Star II Power SupplyThe Star II requires standard 3-phase, 208 VAC input power, plus or minus 10%. The power supply provides current for the laser's plasma tube and magnet assembly. The magnet serves to confine the plasma in the tube and also increases output power and improves colour balance. The power supply uses a highly reliable linear passbank design, which regulates the plasma tube and magnet currents independent of line voltage. At the power consumption levels of Star II systems, the linear pass- bank supply is the appropriate technology choice to avoid spurious electro-magnetic interference from the laser system. This eliminates interference to other components within the total system or within the near environment.Standards and RegulationsStar II lasers are designed to meet U.S. and international safety standards and also comply with European Community CE Mark requirements.Responsive Worldwide SupportThe Innova Star II will deliver reliable, hands-off performance and operate maintenance-free for extended periods. The Star II requires minimal service and your system operator can diagnose most difficulties quickly. Generally, Star II laser heads and power supplies are interchangeable. This allows a repair-by-replace service strategy, which significantly minimises any downtime.Search-and-PeakAn automated, on-demand function - Search-and-Peak - optimises the alignment of the optical cavity. Within minutes Search-and-Peak automatically adjusts the laser for maximum power at minimum tube current. Search-and-Peak can even restore optimal performance in the unlikely event that lasing has ceased completely due to misalignment. That means you can install the Star II deep within your system or in a location that's difficult to reach. In either case, you won't need to access the laser for routine realignment.Alternatively, field service is available worldwide. Customer support packages include training courses, technical support, worldwide service inventories, and extended warranty coverage. Coherent will also customise a customer support program to meet your special needs. Making Your Application WorkStar II lasers are available in several versions offering standard colour balance, red-enhanced colour balance, standard divergence, and low divergence in all PL (mixed gas; argon plus krypton) models. Argon-only and krypton-only versions also are available. Star versions - without the Search-and-Peak function - are available as standard models. With all of these different systems, you're guaranteed a match for your specific application. To ensure your success, we work to build strategic partnerships with our customers. We are ready to work with you today - from concept through delivery and post-installation support to help you achieve results.Technical SpecificationsPerformance Specifications Mixed-Gas Models

Utility and Environmental Requirements
Incoming water temperature must be above the dew point of the ambient air to avoid danger of condensation on high voltage circuitry. Coherent follows a policy of continuous product improvement. Specifications are subject to change without notice. |
