Genesis

Genesis is a high power (40 watt), frequency doubled, Q switched NdYAG laser system operating at 532nm in the visible region of the spectrum. It is the only commercial diode pumped laser system designed and built in the UK specifically for the leisure market, although it has also found applications in forensic work and materials processing.

The Emerald lamp pumped 40watt laser manufactured by Innovations continues to be popular, but recent developments in diode based technology have lead to the development of a solid state version. The product, code named Genesis, has now been released. Genesis is the first in their new range of solid state systems. Incorporating second harmonic generation and Q-switching, the laser delivers 10 watts in CW mode and 40 watts average power in Q-switch mode at 532nm.At full power the laser head draws less than 2 amps from a standard 13 amp wall socket. Cooling is effected from an integral chiller unit, eliminating the need for mains water.The laser head is modular, being a stand-alone unit, but with the bolt-on accessory, it becomes a complete scanning projection head.The new SSDP concept has distinct advantages over the traditional lamp pumped systems:
  • Diode lifetimes around 10,000 hours. Lamps are a few hundred.
  • Much greater reliability.
  • Ten times more efficient. 400 watts electrical power compared with 4000 watts for lamps.
  • Needs only filtered tap water, instead of de-ionised water.
  • Fully portable due to compact size.
In addition the system has RS232 remote control and can be controlled directly from our PC based systems. Standalone control will also be provided with a free Windows application start,rep rate,power,Q switching and shutter control are all supported. Built in refrigeration system maintains the laser coolant at a precise temperature, and is included in the basic package, together with interconnecting cables and hoses, spares kit and water test meter.
