It's huge power can be applied to outdoor shows or large indoor venues. Recent developments in diode based technology have enabled Laser innovations to develop this compact, robust, long life laser system. Using a combination of Q-switching, second harmonic generation and precise temperature control of the SHG crystal, Genesis Red delivers 12 watts of 659nm emission with a long term power variation of 1.5%. Exit beam diameter varies from 2 to 3 mm through the full power range, with a beam divergence of 4 milliradians, though with optional beam expander the divergence can be reduced to less than 1 milliradian full angle. At full power the complete system draws 6 amps from a standard 13 amp wall socket. No external water cooling needed. Compared with present lamp pumped systems, the DPSS Genesis has several distinct advantages: Diode lifetimes around 10,000 hours. Lamps are a few hundred. Much greater reliability. Ten times more efficient. 400 watts electrical power compared with 4000 watts for lamps. Needs only filtered tap water, instead of de-ionised water. Fully portable due to compact size. In addition the system has RS232 remote control and can be controlled directly from our PC based systems. Standalone control will also be provided with a free Windows application. Start-up,rep rate, power, Q switching and shutter are all controlled from a hand-held remote. Built in refrigeration system maintains the laser coolant at a precise temperature, and is included in the basic package.
