The Emerald

Visible NDYAG Laser System

This Nd:YAG Laser is designed and manufactured by Laser Innovations. It's huge power can be applied to outdoor shows or large indoor venues.

The Emerald is a high power (40 watt), frequency doubled, Q switched NdYAG laser system operating at 532nm in the visible region of the spectrum. It is the only commercial laser system designed and built in the UK specifically for the leisure market, though it has also found applications in a wide range of materials processing.

The laser resonator is based on a unique in-line design, in which none of the second harmonic visible light is lost, as is the case with many folded cavity systems, due to coating losses. This concept allows for operation at lower currents than other systems, reducing maximum power consumption to less than 5KW. Also, with its variable magnification beam expander, it produces enhanced beam quality, reducing beam divergence to less than 1 mrad, with excellent long term stability and hands–off operation, month after month.

Warm-up is less than 5 minutes. The system is micro-processor controlled, with monitoring of key parameters and illuminated LCD display for status messages.

A water-to-water heat exchanger, which maintains the laser coolant at a precise temperature, is included in the basic package, together with interconnecting cables and hoses, spares kit and water test meter.
